What is FortiCloud?
The FortiCloud Management and Analysis subscription is a cloud-based SaaS. It offers a range of management and services across the Fortinet firewalls and access points. FortiCloud is Fortinet’s platform for delivering security and security management services. With your Fortinet hardware, FortiCloud provides customers with a simple way to connect, protect, and deliver their data and applications on-premise and in the Cloud.
It’s a Cloud portal that enables you to manage all your Fortinet products and services. All from one place. Additionally, it also provides access to FortiCare.
Basically, FortiCloud is a unified console for managing your Fortinet products.
FortiCloud offers simplified central management, hosted log retention with large default storage, and real time monitoring/alerting. It also gives you service security, and a bunch of other things.
In addition, FortiCloud offers zero touch deployment, configuration management, reporting and analytics, sandboxing for zero day threat protection and the indicators of compromise service which utilizes big data analytics to identify threats already present in client devices. As a cloud service, FortiCloud can grow with your requirements from a single AP or FortiGate all the way up to a full MSP management solution for thousands of devices across multiple customers.
You can useFortiCloud for sandboxing files from a FortiGate. This allows suspicious files to be inspected without risking your whole network. It’s sort of like a quarantine. If the file behaves oddly, or contains virus, a new virus signature is created. Then, FortiCloud adds it to the antivirus signature database.
