Meraki does it again with this largely self-configuring access point. The Meraki MR74 is an exceptionally easy-to-learn 802.11ac device. And, it is 100% cloud-managed. You can deploy it remotely in just minutes. Plus, most actions in it’s cloud interface are point and click.

You have fully remote IT support for your hardware virtually all the time. As a result, the need for full-time IT staff is greatly reduced or even eliminated. Once up and running, you have an unprecedented level of monitoring, reporting, and control of your network.

This is one of the best ruggedized and weatherproofed 802.11ac Wave 2 access points on the market. It’s IP67-rated, near the top for such devices.

The MR-74 is fully protected against impacts, shocks, dust and debris. It’s waterproofing allow it to be submerged in up to a meter of water for half an hour, no problem. Not surprisingly, it can stand up to virtually any weather conditions. In addition, it has an excellent operating temperature range. It is right at home from  -40 °F to 131 °F (-40 °C to 55 °C).

 

Under the hood of the MR74

Firstly, there’s a dedicated third radio for full-spectrum RF analysis. Basically, the MR74 tunes and optimizes its channel and power usage to adapt to the most difficult RF environments. Plus, it has a 4-port Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 switch and an integrated BLE Beacon. There’s also a scanning radio, 24×7 real-time WIPS/WIDS, spectrum analytics, and WiFi. It has a 1.3 Gbps aggregate dual-band frame rate.
