Able to detect and pinpoint changes to system and configuration files, Tripwire for Servers enables IT staff to determine what changed, when it changed, how it changed, who changed it-and to roll servers back to a Known and Trusted state if the change is not authorized or desired.
Tripwire for Servers detects and alerts you to server file and directory changes-whether from external intrusion, malicious tampering, or accident, and enables rapid system comparison to ensure that new software or patches have rolled out properly. Rapid discovery of changes results in reduced troubleshooting and recovery times, minimizing their impact and maximizing service levels. As a result, Tripwire for Servers improves operational stability and system availability.
By creating an audit trail, validating internal processes and closing the loop on change management, Tripwire for Servers ensures compliance to internal IT policies and external regulations. With growing audit requirements impacting both business and governmental bodies, Tripwire for Servers can minimize the disruptions and costs you can incur during audit preparation.
In addition to ensuring systems are in a Known and Trusted state, Tripwire for Servers can assess system damage after an attack or internal mis-configuration, reporting files that need to be repaired or replaced and ranking violations by relative severity. Up to 2, 500 Tripwire for Servers installations may be monitored remotely from Tripwire Manager, a centralized management console. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) provides authentication and data encryption to protect each communication link between Tripwire Manager and Tripwire-equipped servers. Color-coded reports make it easy to identify critical integrity violations, which can be generated in HTML or XML for easy viewing. Mass distribution of policies or snapshots can be distributed for effortless management across a large enterprise.
You can create a “golden build” (a known, good server state) and using Tripwire Manager distribute it to any number of machines. Server states are frequently compared against this build to maintain system integrity across a large group of machines. New policy files can be quickly and easily created, or existing ones edited, and distributed across the enterprise network in minutes.
